Here's something fun! I've received a lot of questions in the last few months about our choice of the PostgreSQL database over MySQL. This is a very popular debate and we thought it was time to lay our reasoning out for all to see.

I look forward to popping over to read that. We're about to install Postgresql here, as well; at the moment we aren't developing apps for either, we're using pre-made open-source apps (mambo, moodle) that work with them.
The college wants to use an app which works only (at least, by design) with Postgresql, so that's coming on board next. We were just talking about some features which we found that postgresql had which, as far as we knew, MySQL did not. Interesting...
