    Letting go of Studio 60

After my post last month, Lori and I decided to stop watching Studio 60 and haven't missed it once. We're watching endless West Wing episodes on Bravo instead and loving every minute of it - wow, what a show! Watching Studio 60 felt like what church used to be for me - my favorite part was when it was over and I could check it off my list.

Today, Dave wrote that he agrees:

I give up on Studio 60. It's dull, childish, plotless, not funny, not heart-grabbing, takes itself far too seriously. Not interesting. Wish they had used the money for this show to buy another season of The West Wing.

    Amen!

Then why are you still talking about it? Just a question.

The first 2 episodes were amazing, but it has gone downhill a bit since then. It was so quick, witty, and didn't let you breathe between jokes and commentary. The last couple weeks have been slow, but I'm still going to give it a chance. On another note, I never watched the West Wing, so maybe our tastes are different.

Brian - I know I may loose a blog friend here, but I never got West Wing at all and absolutely love Studio 60. This may point out my IQ or something :)

I'm right there with you. I had stopped watching West Wing not too long before CJ became Chief of Staff. A few mos ago I started watching at that point again and now I'm in the last season and have enjoyed every season. The first Studio 60 was fantastic. Then it went downhill. So sad.

You're missing out, then. The 12/4 episode was the best one of the season. It was more character-based and had a lot of those Sorkin-esque touches that made "In Excelsis Deo" and "Noel" episodes of the West Wing so terrific. You apparently quit a week early.
